Harry Potter Cookies!

I know I'm late to the game... as is often the case ;-) All my friends have already seen the latest Harry Potter movie. I had to wait til my daughter got home from her honeymoon and she and her new husband's schedule worked to fit in the movie. My son and I have read every single Harry Potter book out loud together. The kids and I went to the midnight showing of at least 1 or 2 of the opening movies.  Harry Potter is a family tradition. So yes, I had to wait for her to be all married before I could go see Harry Potter ;-) But we are going TONIGHT! I'm very excited.

Yes, I know bring LOTS and LOTS of tissues... :-) So for the fun family event, I just had to make cookies. I know, you're so surprised right?!
 Harry Potter Title:
To make these Harry Potter faces, I followed the first Harry Potter video game:
These cookies of Harry Potter on his Nimbus 2000 were from a tutorial that I found online from The Decorated Cookie that Meaghan made a few years ago.
An easy version of the Gryffindor crest:
Harry's Nimbus 2000, but I wasn't very happy with this and glad I only made one ;-)
A more elaborate lightning bolt than the usual one that goes along with Harry Potter:
Harry's glasses:
and of all these cookies, would you believe I forgot to make a sorting hat... duh!
The cookies were fun to make except that I didn't finish them til 2am this morning. Hopefully I'll stay awake during the movie tonight! I made fun Harry Potter tags and I looked online for famous Harry Potter quotes. I added a cool quote to each tag. For instance: "It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends". Don't you just remember Albus Dumbeldore saying that to Neville Longbottom. So I tried to upload the Harry Potter cookie tag file to box.net for you to use if you're making Harry Potter cookies, but box.net just doesn't like Excel. If you want the tag, just email me. I'm very excited to see the Harry Potter movie tonight with my kids! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

  3. I love all of your cookies and your idea to add a quote to each tag was wonderful. I sure hope you loved the movie and managed to stay awake through it all. However, talent such as yours does need to get it's sleep so hoping you are able to catch up on it soon :)
