Hello Kitty Cookies

I finally had a chance to make some Hello Kitty cookies. My niece has been asking me for months to make them. I bought a cookie cutter and I even did an entire Cookie Challenge with tons of wonderful bakers sharing their Hello Kitty creations on my Facebook page. Unfortunately I didn't have time to decorate my own cookies to share. Last night I stayed up late to get a little relaxing time after a very stressful week and I decorated Hello Kitty cookies. I had outlined my cookies already, so it was just the fine decorating to finish off. Here's what I came up with. Yaaa I went a little overboard, but if you know me, you know that's what I tend to do...

LOTS of Hello Kitty cookies
I had bought a Hello Kitty coloring book with lots of cute pictures. I baked a bunch of cookies in large rectangle shapes and large circles with scallop edges, all three cookie cutters are from CopperGifts.com and I then used my KopyKake projector and I projected the image onto the cookie and outlined my design. Here is a cute airplane and balloons.
These two are some of my favorites. The cowboy made me think of my cookie friend, Sugarbelle, down in Texas and the scooter was just super fun. Since I used so many colors and I didn't have much time available for clean-up afterward, I decided that I didn't want to have a pile of tips and bags to clean and I instead kept each of the icing colors in their own small tupperware container and filled the colors on the cookie using a toothpick!
Baker with a cake and Hello Kitty with a bushel of apples. I used an edible marker for the detail on the basket and the eyes & whiskers.
 Cookie baker & bubbles
Cyclist after my own heart with a PINK bike and a Hello Kitty in a poodle skirt
Mixing kitty and one with a lollipop
Shy or surprised Hello Kitty and another mixing kitty in different colors
Another shy Hello Kitty in other colors and a wild skiier Hello Kitty
Hello Kitty with lemonade and also sleeping in bed
Another kitty with lemonade in other colors and a "regular" Hello Kitty in wild lime green :-)
Hello Kitty in the rain and Ballerina
Hello Kitty Ice Skater & Waitress on Wheels
Hello Kitty playing soccer and also surfing
Hello Kitty face platter
Hello Kitty faces bagged for my niece
Large Hello Kitty cookie collection.
Now to clean up! My big volunteering event with 1,200 people went perfectly this morning. It was very exciting! I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! 1. Hi Cristin! So happy to hear that your event went perfectly. I'm sure after that, and all the cookie baking and decorating you've been doing that you are just about ready to crash. Curl up with some of those adorable Hello Kitty cookies (shh, don't tell your niece)and take a nice relaxing break. You've certainly earned one.

Thanks for your kind words! I hadn't even finished finalizing this post and you already commented on it! I seriously adore you. You're always such a sweetie! Thanks so much Paula! I wish you lived close by. I'd bring you a Hello Kitty friendship cookie ;-)

  3. HI Cristin,

I have a kopykake, bought it about a year ago and it's still in the box!! I guess I'm always so rushed that I never have the time to figure out how to use it, but these cookies may be the kick in the booty I needed to finally figure it out! Thanks!! I hope to participate in the next challenge!

  5. @AmandaOh Amanda pull that thing out of the box! It's heaven. Well I love mine anyway. It's A LOT of work and time to do cookies that detailed, but I wouldn't be able to do it without a KopyKake. I think I made my first design the DAY my KK arrived! Try it out. They are easy to use. Let me know if you have questions. Maybe for our next challenge, you'll use it...

  6. @elliesbitesHi Stephanie, yes isn't that funny to do all those cookies with a toothpick? I've never considered myself to be a lazy person, but that was REALLY lazy just so I wouldn't have to wash all those bags and tips. I'm going out of town this week and I knew I wouldn't have time to wash all that, so the toothpick idea did the trick ;-)

  8. @susies1955Thanks so much Susie. All I did though is to trace the design and fill it in. Time consuming, but not ability needed :-)

  10. VERY Cute!! I love HK! She's my favorite character of all time and your cookies captured her perfectly. I can't believe I went so long without the KK. Makes cookie decorating a little bit easier...if only there could be an easier way to clean up!!
