A friend of mine is hosting a Beauty and the Beast play so I made cookies. I had never made Beauty and the Beast cookies before so I knew this would be quite a challenge. I didn't have any Beauty and the Beast cookie cutters and I didn't want to hand-draw every single cookie, so I started by making a bunch of cookie cutter designs. I knew this would be a big project, but I didn't realize just how much time it would consume. I was up til 3am with these cookies a couple nights and one night til 5:30am and the last night til 8am - yes all night long. With cookies. It's times like these that I wish my personality would figure out how to do 1-2 designs instead of 10. Duh. In the end, I was very happy with how they turned out.
Okay, you ready to see them all? I've tried to show how to decorate them too. Lets start with Beast

Character eyes are always really hard, but I made these pretty simple. I filled the eye with white icing and after it was fully dry, I used a blue edible pen and then used black icing to make the pupil. Easy!
Next is Beauty
Same technique with Beauty's eyes. I filled with white icing and when it was fully dry, I used a brown edible pen and then a bit of black icing for the pupil.
and Mrs. Potts
and Beauty's Dress
and Belle's dress
and of course the Rose Case
Did I mention that I made a LOT of these Beauty and the Beast cookies? 120 in all.
and then I cleaned it all up ;-)
